Awhile ago, I picked up this wood block letter sign from an estate sale. I had no plans for it, but I thought it was unique- so I bought it. I'm a sucker for anything art with letters.
I forgot to take a picture of the sign before I primed it. I know, I'm a terrible blogger. I looked kinda drab, so I knew I wanted to paint it to bring out the detail. I decided on gold, because I had never used metallic spray paint and I figured this would be a good item to practice on. First, I gave it a light coat of white primer, then I sprayed it with three coats of Rustoleum's Metallic Brass Spray Paint. The photo below is after the first coat. I found the metallic spray to go on a little thicker than regular spray paint, so make sure to if you use this- do very thin even coats.
I couldn't be more happy with the results. Expect to see many more metallic sprayed items in our house. Here it is up on the wall. And wouldn't ya know- it's for sale! Lucky you!
It's hard to tell in photos, but this sign isn't perfect. It's old, aged, and a bit beat up. I think that gives it character and vintage charm. 18'' long by 4'' wide. Hope you like!
